What makes up a Funeral Notice?

The Photo

Personalise the Funeral Notice by including a photograph of the deceased. This helps to make the Funeral Notice easily identifiable to family and friends. If you'd prefer not to display a photograph of the deceased, the dandelion image shown below will be shown on the Funeral Notice instead.

The Obituary

An obituary is usually a brief biography of your loved one. It gives you the chance to outline some of the important events, qualities, contributions and connections in their life. An obituary would typically include information such as the deceased's date and place of birth, parents' names, date and place of marriage(s) if applicable, education and work details, plus any other significant information or events that you'd like to include.

Memories

A memory is a short message or tribute which can be posted on a Funeral Notice by friends, family and visitors. You can choose to permit memories on a Funeral Notice or not, and where required, you’ll have control to remove individual posts that you don’t want to be displayed.

Funeral Arrangements

An important purpose of the Funeral Notice is to provide details of the funeral arrangements to family and friends. Typically this includes information on the service(s), reception or any other event that you may be organising. You can add up to five different events to the Funeral Notice, if required.

Family Requests

This feature allows you to tell your family and friends about any special requests you might have for the day of the funeral. For example, you might have a specific dress code or a preference on whether or not attendees should bring funeral flowers.

Donations

If you’re collecting donations for a charity or cause that was important to the deceased, you can display a link to a donations page on the Funeral Notice. This means that mourners can follow the link displayed to make their donation online.

Sharing

Let your family and friends know about the funeral by sharing the Funeral Notice with them using Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp (on mobile devices) or email. There's no easier way to keep everyone informed of the arrangements for the day.
