A Funeral Notice is a simple way to announce the death of a loved one and provide information on the date, time and location of the funeral.

A Funeral Notice can also display the name, date of death and a photograph of the deceased, together with a short obituary.

Funeral Notices created on localfuneral.co.uk will be displayed online and can be easily shared by family and friends on social media.

If you’ve arranged a funeral through a funeral director business listed on localfuneral.co.uk, you can ask the funeral director to create a Funeral Notice for you.

Funeral Notices created via localfuneral.co.uk are free of charge.

If you’re collecting donations for a charity or cause that was important to the deceased, you can display a link to a donations page on a localfuneral.co.uk Funeral Notice. This means that mourners can follow the link displayed on the Funeral Notice to make their donation online.

Please note that only secure links are accepted (e.g. website addresses which begin with ‘https’).

Yes. If you’d like to review the Funeral Notice before it’s published, your funeral director can send you a preview link. This link (which shouldn’t be shared with others) will allow you to preview the Funeral Notice. If you’d like to make any changes to the Funeral Notice before it’s published, please contact your funeral director.

A memory is a short message or tribute which can be posted on a Funeral Notice by friends, family and visitors.

If a Funeral Notice has the memories feature turned on, you’ll be able to see the ‘Memories’ section displayed. Click the ‘Share a memory’ button to enter your name, email address and the memory you’d like to post.

Once you’ve done this, a verification email will be sent to the email address you’ve provided. You must verify your email address using the instructions contained in the email before your memory will appear on the Funeral Notice.

Yes, you can remove a memory from a Funeral Notice at any time.

When you originally posted the memory, we sent you a confirmation email. This email contains an option to remove the memory. If you select this option and confirm that you’d like the memory removed, the memory will be deleted.

Please note that once deleted, memories can’t be retrieved. If you’d like to repost your memory, you can revisit the Funeral Notice and create a new one.

If you feel that a memory posted on a localfuneral.co.uk Funeral Notice is inappropriate, you can report this to the family. To do so, please visit the memory and click the ‘Report Abuse’ button. A notification will be sent to the funeral organiser; allowing them to review and/or remove the memory.

Yes. The Funeral Notice can be accessed and updated at any time by the funeral director who created it.

If you’re the funeral organiser and you’d like to make changes to a Funeral Notice, please contact the funeral director to discuss your requirements.

There are a number of different ways to share a localfuneral.co.uk Funeral Notice with family and friends. This can be done via email, social media or by sharing the link to the Funeral Notice itself.

Simply visit the Funeral Notice and navigate to the ‘Share this funeral notice’ section. This can be found directly under the obituary. Here, you can select ‘Facebook’, ‘Email’ or ‘Copy link’.

The ‘Copy link’ option allows you to share the Funeral Notice over social media platforms or messaging services, such as WhatsApp.

localfuneral.co.uk will continue to host your Funeral Notice for a minimum of 14 months after the funeral has taken place.

This means that the Funeral Notice will still be available for viewing and sharing during this time. If you have Memories enabled, friends, family and visitors can continue to post Memories on the Funeral Notice.

The Funeral Notice can be accessed and updated at any time by the funeral director who created it. If you’re the funeral organiser and you’d like to make changes to a Funeral Notice, or arrange for it to be unpublished, please contact the funeral director to discuss your requirements.
