About Us
Our founders Thomas & Margaret Coyte were inspired by their mothers, who assisted neighbours with birth & death practicalities. We work in a natural, traditional way, with the Same Care and Advice as for Friends. We have a quartet of premises in Harold Wood, Harold Hill, Collier Row & Hainault.
Our Consulting Team builds on decades of experience; a listening & conversational approach, joining you around the table with a coffee. We have good knowledge of local ministers, celebrants, churches, temples, crematoria & cemeteries (including “woodland grounds") and help find more modest options. We also help with “direct/unattended” events.
We are the trusted, gentle custodians of your Loved One. We welcome family requests to join us in their washing and dressing, in our pleasant facilities. Our viewing room presentation is comforting, on a semblance of a bed if wanted. We can arrange funerals within a few days, or care for the deceased for longer, while world travel arrangements are made.
On the funeral day our Operations Team are in "best bib and tuckers,” all shiny shoes and top hats, proud of our well-kept Mercedes vehicles. The sum of Harold Wood Funeral Services comprises the "Finer Fellows” you thought you might never find.
Our Station Road Harold Wood Funeral Home is the longest established of our premises, in an historic building opposite the railway station. There is a meeting space here to meet ministers and celebrants if needed, and of course our chapels of rest.
Colleague Maureen Lovegrove has worked with us for over a decade, with a wealth of experience in local funeral arrangements, including with our local churches and temples, and is supported by expert stonemason consultant Graham Walker.
