As the oldest family owned and managed Funeral Directors in the local area, S. Stibbards & Sons, have a wealth of experience an knowledge to support you in your time of need. We pride ourselves on the care, compassion and support, that six generations of family ownership brings to our local community and our duty now remains the same as it was when the company began – to provide respectful and personal assistance in fulfilling the wishes of our clients and their loved ones.
Founded by Samuel Stibbards over 150 years ago, today the company is managed by the fifth generation of the Stibbards family, and operates from seven well appointed funeral homes throughout the Southend, Castlepoint and Rochford districts. With an in-depth understanding of the diverse and multi-cultural community that the company serves, we are able to cater for a families specific requirements to honor the life of their loved one.
2023 saw the opening of the company's state-of-the art headquarters based at Rayleigh Weir on the Benfleet, Rayleigh borders, Weir View House. This facility has allowed us to enhance the care given to the bereaved family and more importantly the person who has been entrusted into our care.
Since then much has changed in the company’s structure, but S. Stibbards & Sons is still owned and run by direct descendants of Samuel Stibbards. We now have seven branches: the head office in Hadleigh, Leigh-on-Sea, Canvey Island, Shoeburyness, Hockley, Southend and Benfleet. We continue to provide care and support to our clients during a difficult time and exercise the utmost professionalism in helping them arrange a fitting tribute to their loved ones.
