About Us

Business started by Issac Hodgson in early 1920's based in Market Place Cockermouth behind J B Banks Iron mongers. Passed to my father Nelson Chicken Snr, on the death of Issac Hodgson,with whom he had spent all his working life.Following my father's illness I took over in 1980 with the help of my mother Dorothy. A chapel of rest was opened in a disussed property in the grounds of 39 Kirkgate where the family lived.
The business is now run from Kirkgate by my self and a very reliable and dedicated team of part timers.
