When Brian Kempster decided to retire in 1999 there was no family member available to continue the tradition his family had established. To remain an independently operated family firm Brian Kempster approached the other family firm ER Hickmott and Son as the leading funeral directors of the local area.
J Kempster and Son was consolidated with ER Hickmott and Son to ensure that the service of funerals could remain independently operated as had been the tradition for 130 years. Today J Kempster is run from premises in Albion road in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
