I W Myers Funeral Directors are reputed to be the oldest established family funeral directors in Britain. It was founded over 300 years ago in 1701, in Wheldrake, York when the Myers family were Undertakers, Joiners and wheelwrights.

We aim to give families a very high standard of service and we pride ourselves on being caring and compassionate, in times which are probably the hardest any person will ever have to go through.

We cover not only the York, Selby, Pocklington or Tadcaster area, but are also able to conduct funeral services nationwide and are here to help you day or night 7 days a week.

James Myers joined the firm in 1999 and continued in the Myers tradition after his late grandfather, Ian William Myers, passed away in February 2005. In 2011, James, due to ill health, was unable to continue to run the business. Having worked with J G Fielder & Son for over 30 years, James approached us and asked if we would take over the business, knowing that we would look after his family name. James' health has now thankfully improved and he continues to manage the branch at Wheldrake.
