Herkes Funeral Directors are a family owned company with personal service provided by the owners, Allan and Awdri Doyle nee Herkes. They provide a full range of funeral services, caring for those who have passed away and their families with dignity and respect at all times.

Herkes Funeral Directors was started in Gorebridge around 40 years ago by Awdri’s parents, Christine and David. They eventually sold their business and retired. It was much later when Awdri became interested in the profession, joining one of the larger groups of Funeral Directors before opening her own business with her husband in Galashiels. Now back to where it all started and drawing on years of funeral directing experience you can rely on Herkes Funeral Directors to provide expert advice and personal support at a time when you need it most. Herkes Funeral Directors offer the highest levels of service at reasonable costs, and can do this because they are not part of a large group. We are a small friendly team with offices in Gorebridge, Awdri’s home town, and Galashiels, Allan’s home town.
