Hillier funeral Service has a long and proud tradition of serving the families of Swindon and the surrounding areas since 1926, when Mark Hillier’s Grandfather, Harold and subsequently his son Michael, founded the company. The Hillier family have arguably the best highly appointed premises in Swindon. The Chapel of Rest, located in Rodbourne Cheney has 5 comfortable air conditioned individual Chapels and also the facility to hold a modest funeral service in house. Our new Highworth branch, with 2 bespoke Chapels, gives easy access for all families in the Swindon and Highworth area to visit their loved ones during the day, evenings or weekends. Caretaker’s live on both sites ensuring that your loved one will receive the highest possible standard of care whilst with us. Our Head Office is in Victoria Road (customer parking available) is in easy walking distance from the Registrar in Euclid Street.
Mark Hillier DipFD MBIE, his daughter Rebecca Dip FAA, LLB and experienced staff, are dedicated to providing a professional, knowledgeable and compassionate service to all our families. We appreciate how difficult it is to deal with bereavement and we will advise you at every stage of the funeral process. The added financial difficulties often faced by our families at this difficult time is also considered. In this light we have signed the Fair Funerals Pledge, providing a low cost, high quality funeral for anyone struggling with financial issues.
As an extension to our commitment of care, we offer a unique Bereavement Care Service, completely free of charge, where anyone needing emotional support will be given one to one counselling, by a qualified counsellor. Extended support is also available by one of our trained volunteers. We run popular social groups, where the bereaved can meet others and attend a programme of events throughout the year, offered in a safe, controlled environment.
We are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, The National Society of Independent Funeral Directors, The British Institute of Embalmers and The Good Funeral Guide. Abiding by their Code of Conduct ensures that our working practices and premises are regularly checked to ensure the highest possible standards for the families we serve.
