About Us

A Little About Ourselves

William Viner established the firm in 1777 on the present site and it soon became well known in the area as a General Department Store as well as being Funeral Directors and Monumental Masons. We are currently one of the oldest family established and run Funeral Directors in the country. The main building itself dates back to around 1430 and contains a wealth of old timbers and artefacts.

We have a Chapel of Rest for viewing loved ones, a preparation area, two arranging offices, administration office and holding room.
